Running an IT Company with a Service-Industry Mindset

About Us

TS Cloud was founded in 2007 by me, a Japanese national, in Taiwan. Before starting the company, I had the opportunity to meet many outstanding business leaders as well as some less successful ones, and I thought, "Maybe I can run a company too!" So I took the plunge and started my entrepreneurial journey.

The company name follows the common naming convention in both Japan and Taiwan of "surname + business type," and was decided quickly. In the early days, there were no grand ambitions — I simply started with what I was good at and gradually expanded the business. We mainly served Japanese companies, achieved good results and earned high praise, and within just a few years the company grew rapidly from just me and one assistant to over 20 employees. As we expanded toward SMBs, we decided to move away from Japanese-focused projects and instead dedicate ourselves to providing more popular services for the Taiwanese market.

At the time, what allowed us to successfully enter the Taiwanese market was largely my "outsider's perspective" as a foreigner. Having worked as an engineer in Japan, I observed that IT companies in Taiwan generally gave the impression of being "too arrogant." In an era when cloud technology was rising and IT was becoming increasingly accessible, the business model of using technical jargon to confuse customers puzzled me. However, I also saw this as an opportunity for us.

Since we were a company founded by a foreigner with no deep local connections in Taiwan, we couldn't rely on traditional relationship-based selling. So we chose a different approach — instead of relying on salespeople, we focused on simple, transparent pricing and high-quality service delivery. You could say we took the opposite path from traditional system integrators. For us, gaining support from even a portion of businesses was enough. Based on this philosophy, we developed our service principles and have stayed true to them ever since.
